Tangshan Fengrun Agri-PV Project Story

On the land of Fengrun District, Tangshan, a 20MW photovoltaic mounting project presents two contrasting landscapes: half lies within the breeding base of Longyun Animal Husbandry Plant, and the other half occupies the idle wasteland outside Longyuan Animal Husbandry Plant. Here, ESET SOLAR is pioneering a harmonious coexistence of clean energy and ecological balance.

Tangshan Fengrun Agri-PV Project Story

The underutilized land adjacent to Longyuan Animal Husbandry covers 143 mu with flat terrain and compact soil, making it an ideal construction site. However, the owner plans to build new factories on the plot in the future, and conventional wind-resistant ground anchor piles would become obstacles for subsequent construction.

Located on the East Hebei Plain, the area is frequently hit by strong winds in winter and spring, with instantaneous maximum wind speeds often exceeding 28 meters per second. Lacking natural windbreaks, the local wind flow is highly turbulent.

To withstand fierce winds while reserving ground space for future development, the technical team of ESET SOLAR conducted repeated simulations and finalized a customized solution combining flexible mounting products and an eight-shaped wind resistance system. With a span of 16 meters and module height adjusted from 2 to 5 meters as required, the design abandons traditional ground anchor piles. Wind-resistant steel cables are diagonally tensioned from the mid-span triangular mountings to the end column piles, forming a natural eight-shaped structure when viewed from the side.

Tailored for the strong wind characteristics of Fengrun District, this eight-shaped system efficiently handles negative wind pressure that violently uplifts PV panels from below. Steel cables rapidly disperse tension to the end columns, precisely controlling mounting deformation and vibration. It not only meets local wind resistance standards but also reserves unobstructed space for future factory construction. The design maximizes land utilization and realizes on-site energy self-sufficiency, balancing immediate needs and long-term planning in every detail.

If the wasteland section relies on ingenious design, the part inside Longyun Animal Husbandry Plant represents a tough engineering challenge. The flexible mountings need to span across the breeding factory buildings, requiring elevated PV arrays without disrupting normal plant operations — setting high standards for structural stability and spatial adaptability.

Complicating matters further, the underground terrain is intricate with crisscross national defense cables, alongside factory foundations and various underground obstacles. Every pile position required rigorous verification to avoid potential risks. The team conducted multiple on-site surveys and continuously adjusted pile coordinates, ultimately bypassing all pipelines, roads and barriers precisely, erecting a green energy corridor strictly within safety boundaries.

Against the triple challenges of ultra-high clearance, large span and strong winds, ESET SOLAR’s Hongxian Triple-Cable Flexible mounting System delivered exceptional performance.Composed of two parallel upper load-bearing cables and one curved lower stabilizing cable, matched with a triangular bracing wind resistance structure, it forms a self-balancing stable system.Boasting superior structural rigidity, wind resistance and vibration suppression, the system perfectly meets the project’s requirements of a 35-meter large span and 7-meter ultra-high clearance, stably holding the PV array above factory buildings against harsh wind and rain.

The layout of the flexible mountings was also optimized through rigorous calculation. The spacing and inclination of PV modules are meticulously designed: they provide effective shade for flocks in summer while allowing sufficient sunlight penetration for forage photosynthesis and normal livestock feeding.Every inch of land beneath the PV panels achieves a win-win integration of photovoltaic power generation and animal husbandry.

ESET SOLAR firmly believes every plot of land has unique features and challenges. Only down-to-earth technological research and customized solution design can enable green energy to take root in diverse application scenarios.

Tangshan Fengrun Agri-PV Project Story

Moving forward, ESET SOLAR will continue to deepen core R&D in flexible mounting technology. With more targeted solutions and reliable products, we will tackle complex practical challenges, unlock the full value of every inch of land, and contribute solid strength to the global energy transition.
